Build a weekly optimization routine
A repeatable review cadence for budgets, search terms, audiences, creative, and experiments.
6 min read · Updated August 27, 2026Daily monitoring protects the account from sudden problems. Weekly review creates enough distance to make considered decisions without reacting to normal volatility.
Monitor daily, decide deliberately
Use alerts for tracking failures, rejected ads, unusual spend, pacing problems, and sharp conversion changes. Treat these as signals to investigate, not automatic proof that a campaign should be stopped.
Run the weekly review
Compare results with the previous period and with the target, while accounting for attribution delay and seasonality. Review budget pacing, marginal efficiency, search terms or placements, audience overlap, frequency, and creative fatigue.
Change one layer at a time
Avoid changing budget, bid strategy, audience, landing page, and creative simultaneously. Isolate major changes, write the hypothesis, set a decision window, and define the evidence required to keep or reverse them.
Close the learning loop
End every review with three lists: actions approved now, experiments still gathering data, and questions that require business context. This keeps the agent’s recommendations aligned with real commercial priorities.
- Record the decision and owner.
- Set a monitoring date.
- Annotate external events.
- Share the next creative need with the Creative Agent.
